Mnet Asia Music Awards just wrapped a few minutes ago in a jampacked Asia World Arena in Hongkong.  And in the conclusion of the event, EXO came out the biggest winner of the night with four awards, including two daesangs (major awards): the Artist of the Year for Asia awards and the Album of the Year Award which is solely based on physical sales.  BigBang's Taeyang came as the second big winner of the night with three awards with one daesang for Eyes, Nose, Lips bagging the Song of the Year citation.

REVIEW:
Personally, MAMA 2014 is a less spectacular edition compared to the ones that were staged in 2012 and 2013.  And at the same time, majority of the performance cannot really induce wow factor or even shock factor.

Speaking of performance, here is my list of Top Three Performances from the night!

3.  SISTAR X AILEE: PROBLEM

A more sophisticated version of Something's iconic dance, Ailee's vocals, and Ariana Grande's well-known recent hits, this performance was such a performance to enjoy.  Although Hyeri sounded really off and awkward during her parts in the Problem performance, Ailee and Minah were really able to stay in command of the performance.  This is sexy without being sleazy!!! Amazing!



2. GD X TAEYANG

No one really knows how to pull off a spectacular performance other than the boys of BigBang.  I remember back in MAMA 2012 and MAMA 2013, BigBang has this kind of magic and transform an ordinary awards show performance into a concert.  This year, Taeyang sang his smash hit "Eyes, Nose, Lips" under lights that deform.  It was like YB was singing among the stars.  GD as well did really good!!! The finale is a spark of hope, a reminder that BigBang's music will live and that new music is what we need to earnestly wait for 2015!
